ABOUT

MY SERVICES

MEET AND GREET CONSULTATION

Before any service is provided, we will need to arrange a free of charge ‘Meet and Greet’ consultation to get to know you and your furry friend. This is done in the comfort of your own home at a mutually convenient time.

Before/at the Meet and Greet there will be some paperwork for you to complete and you will be provided with a copy of The Terms and Conditions as well as the full Price List.

The Meet and Greet will be a good time for us to discuss your furry friends requirements and for you to ask any questions you may have.

Once the Meet and Greet is done and the paperwork is complete, I will confirm your booking(s) and look forward to walking your dog or visiting your cat.

PUPPY WALKS

Puppy walks are available Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 5 pm. Weekend and bank holiday walks 9.30 am to 5 pm are subject to availability.

Puppy walks can start as soon as your puppy has had its full vaccination course and your vet has advised walking can begin.

Your puppy will be walked in a local green space to provide physical and mental stimulation. When appropriate, interaction with other dogs will be encouraged to help your puppy socialise.

In addition, trips to local garden centres and/or dog friendly cafes can be accommodated to get your puppy used to different environments.

Travel in the car for your puppy is another important life skill. Car familiarity and travel will be encouraged from the start of our journey together.

QUALIFICATIONS AND AWARDS NOMINATIONS

The dog walking and pet sitting industry is generally unregulated (except for kennels and home boarders). This means there are no national licensing requirements (except for kennels and home boarders), no formal certification requirements and no formal registration processes for professional dog walkers and pet sitters. It is vital however, for professional dog walkers and pet sitters to be aware of relevant laws and guidelines and to always abide by these.

To ensure a high standard of care and competency when looking after your pet(s), it is important to me to educate myself as much as possible in small animal care and management (through continuing professional development) to enhance my current and previous training, knowledge and experience. I have been a dog owner for over 15 years and have worked professionally with dogs and cats for over 10 years however, there is always something new to learn.

Below are the relevant animal care industry qualifications I hold to give you the assurance your pets will be looked after with the diligence and love they deserve (please note, some certificates are in my maiden name, Jenny Austin).

Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Diploma

Pet First Aid Certificate

Dog First Aid Emergency Canine Care Certificate

First Aid Webinar Certificate

Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy

(included management of common small animal medical conditions, common orthopaedic and neurological conditions, anatomy and physiology of small animals, First Aid for small animal hydrotherapists)
